Friction

What makes things slow down?
 - Friction is a contact force that slows things down!
 - Friction works in the opposite direction to the movement.
 - Friction is a force.
 - All surfaces create friction on an object moving over them.
        - Rougher surfaces produce more friction, but even very smooth surfaces like             ice produce some friction.















Now that you know more about friction, we will investigate the amount of rolling friction created by different surfaces. Use the padlet Rolling Friction Investigation and download the worksheet (Level 1 - Koalas, Level 2 - Emus, Level 3 - Kangaroos).
